In recent times, the consumption of sodium by people by means of over-sized food. Excessive consumption of this mineral can lead to without surgery or without aggravation of many diseases, such as hypertension, renal and cardiovascular diseases. The present work aims at an application for mobile devices, called SodiumApp, to alert people about the sodium content per portion contained in foods, by reading the barcode of the same. In this work, experiments, magazines, websites, articles, newspapers, and other related materials for the survey of SodiumApp requirements. In the development phase is being used in the requirements, Android Studio and MySQL database, in addition to the ZXing library to do a bar code reading. It is expected that with SodiumApp, as people of better quality of life, reducing sodium consumption.
