    ABSTRACT
The multiplication of harmful microalgae in bivalve mollusc fishing
regions is a problem that has repercussions for both fishermen
and for the economy of the affected region, as these microalgae
produce toxins that affect humans, ranging from gastrointestinal
problems to, in more extreme cases, cancer that can lead to the
death of the consumer. Currently, in Santa Catarina, the water is
analyzed to identify the presence of toxins by the Integrated Company
of Agricultural Development of Santa Catarina (CIDASC). The
presence of toxins in the water creates a temporary embargo on
the sale of mollusks. This embargo usually produces great loss in
the bivalve mollusc culture as far as all the production needs do be
discarded. This work creates a sample collection system that can
be performed by growers rather than experts for the acquisition of
those samples. These work aims to create an easy-to-use system
enabling the mariculturist to sample water. The purposed process
allows the acceleration of the sample collection and analysys. The
manual process needs an expert to come to the field, collect samples,
document the samples and take to the lab to analyze. In this
study we created an embedded system for sample collection that
automated the collect field data and link to a image collected by
a portable microscope and when a wifi connection is detected it
sends the sample to a data server.
