ABSTRACT Itisobservedthattheconstantevolutionoftechnologyistakingeducationtonewdirections,emphasizingtheuseofnewtoolsandprovidingeffectiveimprovementsintheteaching/learningprocess.AugmentedReality(AR)technologycanbeagreattoolineducationandcanalsotargetchildrenwithspecialneeds.ARapplicationsineducationcanbenefitallwhohavemoreorlessneedsandcanbecomeausefulandinnovativetoolineducation.Thus,thispaperaimstopresentthedevelopmentofasysteminARthroughaninteractivechildren'stextbooktellingthestoryofthemunicipalityofLabrea,intheinteriorofAmazonas,exploringthedifficultiesofstudentswithautismandcerebralpalsy,showingthestudentinteractionwithabstractknowledgecompletelyandfacilitatingthewaytotheunderstandingoftheoriesandconcepts.
